If you are an avid forum
poster or blog commenter, you surely are familiar with Avatar. The
Avatar we are talking about here is not the movie but the graphics
that represents your character in a forum, blog and more. An avatar
can be three-dimensional or 3D like the ones used in computer games
or two-dimensional like what you can see in forums and blogs. You
might wonder how these eye-catching graphics are made. Let us together
know how to create
avatar.
Below are the
steps:
· To start with, you
need to prepare everything you need. You will need to have a copy
of the show you want to make a GIF, a program that will allow you
to take screenshots, and a photo editor.
· The second step that
you need to do is to get screenshots. Open your program that will
let you take snapshots, play your video and start taking snapshots.
· Now let us proceed
to the third step. After you have taken snapshots, you can now upload
the photos in your photo editing software. It can be GIMP or Photoshop
and other photo editing software. If you are using GIMP, drag your
first image into the main window. You now must have a new window
with the photo and another window called layers. You then do the
same step with the remaining photos (drag them into the layer window
of your GIMP).
· After that, make it
animation out of the layers of photos you have. You right click
the image, select filters, then animation and lastly, click playback.
There must be a new window to pop up, with the play icon. Click
play and you will see how your animation would look like.
If you find your frames
are out of order, just drag them around in the layers window until
you find it good enough. If you find that you animation is playing
too fast or too slow, just double each layer of your GIMP and change
the speed from 100 to your desired number. One must note though
that lower numbers will play your animation faster and larger numbers
the other way around. Have a preview of your animation to make sure
everything is right.
· Now on our fourth step,
resize your image. A desired size of an avatar can be depending
on the community you are a member. Some forums require avatars to
be 100x100 pixels.
· Lastly, save the file
as GIF.
Now you already have the avatar even if you do not have the avatar
generator.
