Website Launched To Create Virtual Avatars For After Death

A new website has been launched that will gather detailed information about a persons life to replicate it into a virtual avatar. Eterni.me has been developed by 8 professionals who think that by collecting information by digital footprints will allow advanced technology to create an avatar. Eterni.me will use data from Facebook, Twitter and other social networks to learn the character of a person. Users will eventually be able to create their avatar which can then be used and watched by others after we die. Using all means possible and with a little help from the user, the virtual avatar will be able to be generated for generations to look upon. The website is currently collecting email addresses, for when the full service is available. In the first day 7000 people visited the site and 500 users opted for an early invitation. Reports are suggesting the new website could appear crazy or creepy. Would you want to design an virtual avatar of yourself for others to view when you have passed away? Professor Bill Aule commented that "some of the craziest ideas are best". The only flaw I could imagine is that years to come, the technology available then would perhaps make the virtual avatar recording a little dated. Maybe like watching back on an old Atari of Nintendo system now. With the first day of visitors looking positive though, who knows, it could be the next latest craze everyone gets involved with. It sure has an unusual twist to it
